Don't Make Me Think--A Common Sense Approach to Web Usability

This book was one of the best (text) books I’ve ever read. Steve Krug (the author) has had over 20 years work in usability and it shows. This book is a very straight forward explanation of usability dos and don’ts. Reading this book I had several, “I knew that” moments, but I never really connected the dots until reading through this book.

The Truth About Search Engine Optimization

the-truth-about-seoThis book was so close to making the transition from being a good book to being a great book. The book is very well organized and offers a lot of insight into the world of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) the only thing that disappointed me with the book was that it really didn’t seem to hit a very clear target. This book didn’t seem to be targeted to beginners, intermediates or advanced students of SEO. A more proper title for this book should have been Good Advice About Search Engine Optimization as it did not guide beginners through the process of SEO nor did it really expound upon basic SEO principles.

The book is a good buy at $13.00 and is a handy quick reference, but if you’re looking to get your hands dirty with SEO or looking to expand your SEO knowledge, I would look elsewhere.
